Job Description:

Job description of bus driver includes following tasks.

Verify the condition of a vehicle's brakes, windshield wipers, oil, tires, lights, fuel, water, and safety equipment to make sure that everything is in working order.
Arrange and submit reports that might include the number of passengers or trips, mileage, hours worked, fuel consumption, and fares received.
Comply through traffic regulations in order to work vehicles in a courteous and safe manner.
Regulate lighting, heating, and ventilation methods for traveler comfort.
Contribute in the agency's self-evaluation procedure and grantee monitoring visits, as demanded, and complies through any program development plans developed.
Maintain supervisor informed, through the two-way radio, of any matters like late running or overloading - which might affect the scheduled or service.

Account for every money composed and pay-in every day.
Sustain order among pupils during trips, in order to make sure safety.
Make rosters and work shifts as directed, carrying out every shift duties and orders.
Sustain and wear uniform offered be clean and tidy.
Follow security rules as well as exit buses or cross streets near bus stops.
Completes a comprehensive written examination of the bus every day, reporting any conditions of concern to the director, or delegated employees person, previous to transporting.
Complete shift reports, accident report forms and other reports, as necessary.
Report any defect or damage to the bus in the defect book.
Gather issue tickets, check passes, fares, record all students carried, work ticket machine and offer accurate change.
Read maps, and follow verbal and written geographic directions.
Maintain the bus clean and free of debris; follows other cleaning methods and procedures.

Skills:

Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, equipment, and strategies to encourage effective state, local, or national security functions.
Watching dials, gages, or other indicators to ensure a machine is functioning properly.
Sustains knowledge of first-aid measures.
