WORK ENVIRONMENT:-

As a member of air cabin crew you will be playing a very important role in ensuring your airline passengers have a protected, contented and pleasing flight. The air cabin crew members are also called as flight attendant.

Earlier than the flight you will:

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:-

Entry requirement can differ from airlines to airlines so you should check with them directly, but in general you should have a good standard of Basic English and mathematics. Several airlines might request for GCSEs in English and Mathematics, or corresponding qualification.

You will also require:

  • a good fitness level and eyesight and standard color vision
  • capability of swimming for minimum 25 meters
  • a elegant appearance
  • a official passport which will help you to travel all over the world

You must not have any evident tattoos or body piercings.

You should be 18 years old to work as an air cabin crew member (various airlines place entry age at 21). The requirements of weight and height also differ from airlines to airlines, so you must also check with them.

Several airlines search for cabin crew who are able to speak the second language. Past experience in customer service, hotel and catering, and nursing is also useful.

Though it is not necessary, there are few college courses that assist you to build up your skills for this career. This will include:

  • NCFE Certificate in Airline Cabin Crew (Level 2)

TRAINING DETAILS:-

Once you begin work your airline will give a training program. This will generally be for 4 to 6 week and cover up:

  • safety and urgent situation procedures
  • regulations of security, immigration and customs
  • first aid
  • passenger care and customer relations
  • currency exchange
  • preparation of food and galley management
  • personal management

Later than the fundamental training you will generally have to go by a probationary period of 3 to 6 months, during which your presentation will be examined by the senior crew and trainers. You will have to give normal exams to check your skills and knowledge of safety and urgent procedures and to make sure that you fulfill the requirements of official first aid.

SALARY AND OTHER BENEFITS:-

  • Early salaries can be between £ 12,000 and £ 15,000 yearly.
  • If experienced, this goes up to between £ 15,000 and £ 21,000.
  • Leading crew can be paid up to £ 25,000 a year.

Flight allowance and overtime can bring rise in the salary.

WORKING CONDITIONS:-

You will work in shifts which will include nights, weekends and bank holidays. You will have to spend your time away from home as per the routes of your flights.

This work can be challenging, as you will use up a lot of time on your feet and work in home spaces like kitchen galley. Horrific weather can make the conditions of the flight uncomfortable.

You will be anticipated to be well prepared and you will be given a uniform by your company.
