Critical Care Technician Careers

WORK ENVIRONMENT:-

Critical Care Technologist (CCTs) ensures that the equipment used in care of critically ill patients are secure and effectual. CCTs can also be known as Intensive Care Unit Technicians.

The main duties and responsibilities of the CCT concentrate on ensuring the technology and equipment required to hold up organ function and maintain life is working and being used properly. • Level A in subjects like Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics
• National Certificate Applied Science BTEC Level 3 (which includes units of medical physics, physiology and electronics)

State Registration:

TRAINING DETAILS:-

As a trainee Critical Care Technologist you will get on-the-job training and this can be combined with amateur study for a relevant qualification like degree in Clinical Physiology presented all the way through City of Westminster College and validated by Middlesex University.

If you are having degree, you can add to your work-based training by finishing sections from degree in clinical physiology (CCT) and professional exams set by the Society of Critical Care Technologist (SCCT).

SALARY AND OTHER BENEFITS:-

• Preliminary salaries can be between £ 21,000 and £ 27,000 every year.
• Superior practitioners and managers may earn up to £ 39,000.

WORKING CONDITIONS:-

Basically you will be working for 40 hours a week comprising shifts and on duty system. Some of your work can involve dealing with hazardous chemicals and substance, so you may require wearing defensive overalls, gloves, coats, masks and glasses at times.

You would work together with the nurse staff, doctors, nurses, often in pressurized and expressively demanding conditions. You can have strong contact with the distressed relatives and very sick patients.
