WORK ENVIRONMENT:-

Wine merchants are also known as wine retailers. They are responsible for buying wine from shipper and grower to sell in the United Kingdom. In a big wholesale business, wine merchants might work as buyer, retail managers and importers.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:-

You will begin working in the wine trade as a sales assistant for one of the large off-license chains (found on most high streets) and progress to retail branch manager. You will not generally require any qualification, but you should not be less than 18 years old for retail sales.

If you are a graduate, you might be able to begin with your work with the large wine retailer as a management trainee. You can be the manager in around 2 years.
