Collections Manager ResumeJob Description: Apart from holding the responsibility of revenue collections, a collections manager must also possess organizational and administrative skills, efficiency in customer services and management skill to run a collection department successfully. He or she has to oversee all areas of collections, credits and financial dealings of the organization. He/she must have the capacity to review credit applications, accounts of the customers, appraising credit reports, handle the excess payments and ensure the flow of revenue. A collections manager should ensure that the employees in the collection department follow the collection policies and procedures laid down by the organization. In many companies, a collection manager plays a dual role as a collection manager as well as a credit/collection manager. The credit/collection manager has to take responsibility of revenue collections as well as supervise the accounts receivable and financial reporting also. A collections manager instructs, manages and coordinates the work flow of the collection staff and supervisors, in his/her assigned areas. He or she is solely responsible for the collections department and giving training to the new employees. He/she has to ensure that there is no deviation from the policies and procedures of the organisation, when the employees are at work. A collections manager has to maintain and document all the financial transactions perfectly for statistical purposes and preparing analytical reports.
