Job Description:

Apart from the responsibilities of operating and maintaining the crane systems and hydraulic equipment, a crane engineer has to check the operational systems of a crane machine, prepare electrical specifications, work instructions and repair the errors in the system. A crane engineer has to be very careful in following the safety rules and procedures prescribed, while a crane system is put to operation for any specified work. Safety measures include the safety of the workers, surrounding people and the crane system itself.

A crane engineer has to make arrangements to do servicing and repairing of mobile cranes on and off site. He/she is also responsible to attend to administrative works as well prepare all documents relating to the allotted work in time. He or she should have the capacity to work under pressure and maintain safety standards at the site.

A crane engineer must be able to identify the problems, prepare the reports on them and recommend necessary modifications to be made in the crane and hydraulic systems. He or she must also provide support in checking the quality by using standard test tools.
