An accounting technician generally begins his career by functioning in a support role in finance or accounting division of a firm. He handles all types of tasks pertinent to the areas of business accounting and finance. Besides, he is capable of accomplishing various taxation and accountancy duties for private and public sector related firms.

This is one of the entry level positions in accounting that requires an employee to perform different duties ranging from lowest to moderate level of difficulty involved in it. Usually, he handles payroll, accounts payable, and fixed assets of the organization. However, this is not the only job role he is required to accomplish.
