Physician Cover Letters

A physician cover letter is written by an MD specializing in preventive health care. They are experienced in general medicine who can treat patients for various medical issues such as general medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, cardiology, etc. In the US, a physician is also known as Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Many colleges offer courses for MD or DO degree, the only difference between these two being, in Osteopathic medicine, one stresses upon anatomy and osteopathy (medication along with surgery). A physician guides his patients through proper diet, regular exercise, pharmacy, surgery and rehabilitation.

In the US, an applicant has to be an undergraduate followed by a 4-5 years post graduate course in the medical specialty. After the completion of education, one needs to work as a trainee/ associate physician under the direct supervision of a senior physician before he becomes a certified physician. A recognition certificate from the American Medical Association or the American Osteopathic Association is necessary.
