Laid Off (Recruiter) Resume

The resume of a recruiter, laid off from his previous employment should bear a healthy objective that clearly outlines the candidate's career interests and aspirations, while staying in conjunction with the needs of the employer. Your objective itself must state that you have been laid off from your previous employment. It is therefore considered as a good practice to contact the employer beforehand and discuss his needs, which will eventually give you a clear picture as to what you need to present in order to gain the confidence of the reader. Being laid off is likely to cause a gap in your employment history, and remember that a cover letter is what is quintessential in your job application. The cover letter explains everything. It is a tool that let's you establish contact with the corresponding employer, prior to your meeting with the recruiter. In fact the quality of your cover letter will determine whether you will be given the opportunity of an interview. And this is where your marketing skills come into light; advertise your capabilities efficiently to convince the reader into considering you as a desirable candidate.

Writing a laid off recruiter's resume is only difficult until you frame your objective. And, unless you know the employer's expectations, you are less likely to craft an objective that delivers what's required. Choose a standard format, especially the one that is shown below in the sample. Observe its presentation and the nature of its contents. Follow simple steps such as using bullets for highlighting, being brief and precise, excluding all mundane content, include only the relevant key skills, and most importantly, maintain the uniformity in the flow of information. Note that the objective is framed carefully, avoiding the "self" factor. Try restricting the use of "I" or "me" to zero, if possible. Your application must be more of employment centered than goal centered, unless your goal is to serve for the advancement of the organization. And this is what we have done in the sample too. Choose the most appropriate points while mentioning your previous job descriptions, leave out on all general responsibilities. Be specific.
