The organizations have a number of individual work stations used by technical and non-technical professionals. There is a centralized huge computerized system known as the Mainframe computer that takes care of all the systematic coding, troubleshooting, query answering, etc. This centralized mainframe computer system needs to be managed and programmed in a way that all connected workstations get the required response and are allowed to perform the required actions. The person responsible for the programming of the same is known as Mainframe Programmer. They are also known as system level programmers because this programming helps in effective functioning of the other workstations connected to it.

A mainframe system is a large system in an organization, that helps in receiving and sending transmissions from interconnected individual work stations. These systems have to be very effective, as it will have to cater to a number of queries simultaneously. This computer needs to be programmed for its own functioning, the intra and Internet network, and all the connected workstations.
