Job Description:

The responsibilities of a construction project manager include project management, project planning, cost and time management, quality management, preparing contract documents and safety management. He or she has to participate in many construction projects such as residential and commercial buildings, construction of roads and bridges, hospitals, etc. A construction manager may be self employed or can work in any business establishment.

A construction project manager is responsible to get all the required permits and licenses from the concerned departments before the commencement of the construction project. He/she has to supervise the construction work on site and ensure that all rules and regulations are followed strictly and see that the quality standard is also maintained. He/she is also required to supervise the delivery of building materials and to ensure proper utility of equipment.

It is the responsibility of the construction project manager to select competent contractors to carry out all aspects of construction work such as plumbing, carpentry, electrification, metal work, etc. If necessary, the construction manager can revise the cost of construction and this may be due to delay in completion of the project, labor problems and some unforeseen circumstances.
