Job Description:

A CAD manager is responsible to provide training for the employees of the department and should be able to train individuals as well as group of people on the latest features and processes of software technology. A CAD manager has to provide technical support on the advanced features, troubleshooting and customization.

Most of the CAD managers will be proficient in adding their own customization and programming and they are expected to produce technical documentation in respect of these specific functions and designs for the benefit of other employees. A CAD manager is responsible to supervise the CAD users under his/her control regarding time management, ensuring productivity and organising many CAD projects.

CAD manager are also expected to perform administrative duties such as project paperwork, vendor supply and licenses regarding computer hardware and software. In some organisations, CAD managers are assigned the work of preparation of budget documents and financial statements. They are also expected to identify the opportunities and recommendations for increased efficiencies in the work flow.

  • I am monitoring the work of ten drafters and have evaluated their performance in the office.
  • I have developed computer drawings details for every discipline in the office.
  • I have developed 2-D and 3-D drawings using the appropriate software.
  • I have documented all projects and written analytical reports for guidance.
  • I have guided the designers and CAD operators by providing technical support, by introducing latest technologies and ensured maintenance of expected standards in performances.

Earlier, I was working as a CAD manager in another software company in San Diego, CA from the year 2001 to December, 2006 and my assigned duties and responsibilities are as follows.

  • I had planned and completed the projects within the prescribed time and within the budget allocated.
  • I had attended regular meetings and discussed with the CAD operators and technicians regarding the progress of projects and about solving the problems that arose during implementation of the projects.
  • I had worked in all areas and gained experience in design flow, EDA/CAD set up customization and other technologies.
  • I had trained my juniors in CAD system issues and its resolution.
  • I was keen on learning new and upcoming technologies in respect of hardware, software, CAD operations, etc.

Educational Background:

I have a Master's degree in Computer Science from a University in North Dakota.
I also have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design.
