  • Assigned/scheduled/inspected work; set up preventive maintenance programs; handled inventory management/control, stores/parts/consumables ordering; burning of heavy fuel oil required continual troubleshooting/problem-solving in the maintenance of propulsion system. Hands-on management included 80% of all engines.
2nd Assistant Engineer: 1992-1993
  • Supervised 4 assistants in the maintenance of boilers and auxiliary equipment; responsible for fueling, storing and purification of fuel, test/maintenance of correct boiler water and/or main jacket water, and maintenance, repair, overhaul or replacement of related systems and components.
3rd Assistant Engineer 1991-1992
