Production Editor Resume

A production editor resume is written by a well-trained, well-experienced person who has a great deal of knowledge about editing and the business of book publishing. This is a post especially available in the book publishing houses where a production editor, otherwise known as managing editor in newspaper agencies, gets the book ready for publishing after conducting a careful editing session for it.

His job role starts with the receiving of an unedited manuscript and ends up with a successful transformation of that manuscript into a book. Apart from this task, it is his responsibility to streamline the performance of various other people working at various different posts and obtain industry standard outputs from them in terms of their roles and responsibilities.

Following is the structure of such a resume:

Objective Statement - A brief account of your level of motivation to contribute meaningfully to the working of the company, explaining why you are striving for the job.

Profile Summary - It marks all the important points of your work profile. It is used as a section to mention your USP and impress the recruiter.

Skills Summary - This includes an exhaustive and complete list of all the professionally necessary skills that one must possess in order to carry out his work with efficiency.

Work Experience - One has to mention the names of all the companies along with the designations at which he worked in those companies. This should be followed with a list of responsibilities that he had shouldered in those companies. This will give the recruiter a better idea about whether you are suitable for the job at hand or not.

Education - This includes all the information of your educational qualifications - where you studied, what you studied, and in which year you achieved the degree. It all has to be written in a reverse chronological order.

Achievements - This is the final stop to your resume, where you mention all your professional achievements. They must be mentioned, otherwise, how will you prove yourself to be worthy enough of a job in this competitive world?
