Managing Editor Resume

A managing editor resume is written to apply for the respective post in a publication house or newspaper agency. The roles and responsibilities of such a professional vary from publication to publication. All the editorial articles and content are contributed to the magazine or newspaper by writers, journalists, and other news agencies. The job of a managing editor is to monitor the flow of all the articles and determine which of them can be printed and which of them need a bit of change. In some publications, the post of managing editor is the senior most where all the writers and department heads report to the professional; but, in other publications, the editorial director is the senior most professional who looks into the overall development and printing operations of a magazine or newspaper.

A managing editor may have one or more assistant editors who look into the editorial work and assist the managerial editor with his day-to-day work.

The resume of such a professional should be carefully written. While wring it, some things should be kept in mind.

Use separate headings - These headings are to be used in order to differentiate between the types of content in your resume. Separate section headings and sub-headings will make it easier for the reader, too, to find the exact information that he is looking for in your application.

Mention your USP - Your USP is what will sell you in the market. It has to be clear and mentioned in the beginning of the resume. For this purpose, we have the "profile summary" section in the resume, where you can mention about your USP - something that you possess exclusively or your strongest point professionally.

Avoid copy mistakes - One of the most negative points could be to allow even the smallest copy mistake in your resume. This will put a wrong impression on the recruiter about you. So, proofread your resume after writing it.

Use power words - Power words are those which when used in your resume, underline the importance of the job posts held by you; put stress on the importance and authority enjoyed by you in your prior jobs.
