The planning financial analyst has the following responsibilities to perform.

  • He or she has to analyse the past and present financial data of the organisation. Based on the result, the analyst has to estimate future income and expenditure, by applying the finance principles.
  • The financial analyst has to assist the organisation as regards to the financial functions such as auditing, planning, budgeting, various taxes, cost control and project control.
  • He or she has to keep a close watch on capital expenditures and evaluate them. The analyst has to analyse the depreciation, new proposals, investments possibilities, rate of return, profits, financial statements, etc.
  • He or she has to prepare the documents on revenues and expenditure and submit the data to the management for further review.
  • The financial analyst has to conduct research studies on budgets, forecasts, financial plans, statistical analytical report and business forecasts and apprise the management on these details.
  • He or she has to look after financial planning and control by developing financial and accounting concepts.
