Dear Ms. Cook,

It was wonderful to talk with you today after so many years. It brought back memories of family times at the lake.

My daughter, Debra, is now fourteen and in the ninth grade. We are both struggling with the ups and downs of the teenage years. Although Washington, DC, has been a terrific experience for both of us, I want to give her a better quality of life in her high school years. College is right around the corner, and Texas has some excellent ones. I, too, want a less frantic quality of life.

Several cities in Texas interest me: San Antonio, Dallas, Houston and Austin. My priorities are: 1) quality of life, especially a strong sense of community; 2) schools and friends for Debra; and 3) a challenging, lucrative professional position in a growing firm.

I've attached my resume to give you a feel for my recent experience. I have a great deal to offer a firm in several areas: international business development, government relations and streamlining the government regulatory burden that's choking most companies today.
