Writing An Executive Resume
In today’s materialist world where the appreciation of a well respected highly paid job of an executive and the likes is literally sky high, even the competition in the job market is equally tough. In this cut throat, dog eat dog world scenario, one can easily say that just working hard in one’s academic or professional career and to have an impressive record in pen and paper is simply not enough to land up with the much coveted high profile job.
It becomes quite clear from the above discussion that apart from being an individual with all the required qualifications and skills, it is equally important to present him or herself in a suitable way. In other words, one needs to advertise his or her skills and qualities, market them properly and then only can sell them to the prospective employers. Although it is certainly easier said than done, especially for an executive job, the tool one needs to carry out this entire process is nothing but a well written and properly designed resume.
Contrary to the age old and traditional idea of a bio data which was more like a document revealing the candidate’s academic and professional records and other associated information and statistics, a resume is more of a marketing device which will function as an impactful advertisement for the relevant HR personnel of the respective organization. A well crafted resume must be able to emphasize on an individual’s strengths and positive aspects and at the same time be able to mask the weaker points. Whether it is a question of how to write executive resume or for anything else, one must take in to account one primary and yet extremely significant point in to consideration.
The primary and the only function or purpose of a resume is to make sure that the candidate gets noticed among numerous others and gets a call for an interview; period.
An executive resume should ideally have the prim, precise and professional look and yet must be extremely sleek and striking at the same time. It must be able to reflect the balance between the creative and fundamental aspects in one’s personality; the primary requirement for executive posts.
Although feeling confident is always considered to be a blessing, when it comes to designing an executive resume, it is always better to be meticulous and perfectionist to a certain extent as otherwise one can start feeling complacent about the resume which can cost him or her quite dearly in the end. One of the most important things about an executive resume is to have a very carefully written and designed profile or job objective section.
The profile must be crafted in a way so that the recruiting personnel gets hooked on and is compelled to go through the remaining portion of the document. It should be followed by section revealing the qualifications, accomplishments and experience which together with the profile must make the candidate appear to be the ideal one for the post which is vacant.
