Writing A Driver Resume

Nowadays, one often hears people discussing about the problems of a globalized and materialistic world and how difficult it has become to get a decently paid job in this extremely competitive job market.

However, the common misconception that seems to be running among the most of the people is that they tend to associate this problem only with a limited section of population like the high profile business schools pass outs looking for a job in some MNC or other.

However, the fact remains that this above discussed cut throat competition runs in every sphere of professional life in every level irrespective of the job being a government one or in the private sector. In fact, in certain comparatively economically lesser developed parts of the world it has been seen that this competition is almost at a dog eat dog level when it comes to the question of people being employed for personal services such as a house maid, a gardener or a valet. Although most of these are considered to be luxuries confined to the elite class, the post of a driver is still the most common among them as it is technically a specialized job.

A driver’s job, one of the most common instances of personal employment, is an area of stiff competition and even the recruitment procedure is quite rigorous. This is mainly due to the fact that unlike other services in case of a driver, there is a grave responsibility associated with it every moment of the job. However, one can easily realize that from the employer’s perspective there is no such thing as a full proof method to select one particular person for the post depending on his skills and qualities.

Hence, the resume plays a very significant role in the whole process. The resume becomes an instrumental factor early in the recruitment process filtering out only a handful for the final job interview from the initial number of applicants for the post.

Although there is no such thing as a concrete answer to the query of how to write driver resume, the guiding principles generally followed include stating the personal information in details. Ideally a driver resume must contain all the pertinent data about the individual other than the general ones such as name, address, contact number, etc. A special aspect of the driver resume is the fact that it must include various technical information and statistics in details such as license and its category, certificates and clearances from relevant and pertinent authoritative bodies such as the transport department, etc.

A very important thing in this regard is a recommendation letter from the previous employer which works as a guarantor of quality, skills and efficiency making it easier for the present prospective employer to decide and judge about the respective applicant. In a driver resume, it is also better or rather advantageous to state about his ability to carry out little errands such as delivering domestic notes to other members of the family, etc.
