The present day job market scenario all over the world is marked by a stiff cut throat competition in every level irrespective of one’s line of profession or the position in the organizational hierarchy. Very rarely one comes across an individual especially among the youth who is not a part of this universal round the clock rat race in some way or the other. In fact, getting a proper and well paid job has become so tough due to excessive availability of eligible candidates rather than the dearth of vacancies.

From the above, one can easily realize the level of opposition a job candidate is expected to face during the course of a recruitment process especially more so if it is in to an esteemed organization in some high profile designation. Therefore, one needs to plan out every detail and the moves to be made in the entire course very carefully with utmost precision. One of the most important things that one needs to take in to account in this regard is preparing and designing a well written resume which is considered to be the most significant step in the whole process of recruitment of a candidate in an organization.

Although many people tend to confuse the idea of a resume with that of a more conventional notion of a bio data, these two are quite different in their content as well as functions and applications. A resume, besides being a record of an individual’s academic and professional career, relevant personal information, experience, etc is more of a marketing device. It should be able to put a major emphasis on the candidate’s positive aspects and strengths and at the same time mask his weaknesses and drawbacks and act as an advertisement selling his skills and qualities for a suitable cost to his prospective employer. One must always remember that the sole purpose of a resume is to earn an interview call for the candidate and nothing else.

For those who wonder how to write designer resume, must realize the fact that there is no such thing as a hard and fast rule for preparing an effective resume and that it is quite a creative exercise which varies from an individual to another. However, one can always say that in order to make the resume effective the candidate can most certainly follow some basic principles while going about creating a designer resume. Preferably a designer resume must be constructed in a way so that when it comes to the question of the relevant HR personnel reading the document, it becomes an easy and comfortable task for him.

It is always advised to keep the information, data and statistics precise as well as presented in an organized manner under suitable sub headings. One must put special efforts in writing the career objective section. It should appear to be compatible with the requirements for the vacant post and should also be supported by the details under academics and professional experience section.
