It is quite challenging to manage your career as a Christian. The article will provide helpful advice & practical tools for Christian to manage their career.

  • Biblical decision starts with a willingness to submit our intentions to God’s perfect will and calmly follow his direction. In daily routine we tend to forget what God’s will is in every decision we face—especially the big, life-altering decisions. Planning step-by-step will help out a spiritual road map for biblical decision making.
  • For an individual it is always confusing if he/she is using a good judgment for daily decision about life. We all have trouble making decisions?
  • “Is Ambition Unbiblical?” Christian men should encourage others & as an individual to take a moment to consider the worthiness of their ambitions. In sight of fact, what pursuits will bring the greatest rewards? Never find your life purpose seems like an elusive.
  • There are few steps that an individual should follow to manage his career:
  1. You should understand your natural strength not only what you have gained. Natural strength is a matter of good stewardship. You can make wise choices about the best career options. It is a helpful tool that will give you information about your interests, skills, values, and personality so that you can be a best steward of your God-given talents. With this knowledge of your natural strengths.
  2. Once understood your natural strengths, jot down a career focus summary statement which clearly shows your best three to five natural strengths and career interests in aspects of your experience. This will enable you to show others what you do best. It will also help you make better career decisions when considering various job opportunities.
  3. Always keep updating your resume. You may not know when you require sharing the resume with others. You may want to apply for a new job opportunity or you may be forced to look for a new job.
    Keeping an attractive resume ready all times is always preferable to throwing a resume together at the last moment. Besides, how many job opportunities have you decided not to pursue because you didn’t have your resume ready?
  4. Continue learning to develop additional skills. Always be free to learning. Training, education, and reading related to your area of expertise will help keep your skills sharp and marketable. Adopt technology and computers as necessary in today’s workplace. To the extent possible, master skills that companies value, like problem-solving, verbal and written communication, initiative, and creative thinking.
  5. Jot down a career focus plan. Seek God’s leading and direction. Write out proper career and learning goals. Update & revise your plan as God leads and directs you. Career Direct assessment report contains enough valuable information to help you keep your plan in line with God’s plan.
  6. Decide and live according to financial budget. Always save and keep liquid for minimum of three to six months of living expenses to help with unexpected circumstances. Cut down on your debt.
  7. Utilize each & every second of your life. How much time do you believe that God would have you spend working? Set up categories for managing your time according to your priorities.

Managing your career in the middle of such tremendous change is challenging, exciting, and sometimes a bit overwhelming.

To manage your career effectively in the new millennium, you will need to practice initiative and assume personal responsibility for the lifelong development of your skills, knowledge, and expertise. In terms, you will need to manage your life to meet both work and personal responsibilities.

One thing is sure: Change will continue in the new millennium. In all likelihood, the next decade will be filled with many more changes than the past decade. The need for us to seek and trust God will be great.
