Public accounting

Many accounting and finance majors start in public accounting and continue in this career path. It is a challenging, intellectually demanding and rewarding vocation. This path as a wonderful growth as initial if you want to enter into this path you need to have minimum one year experience.

Staff accountant /junior auditor is entry-level positions in public accounting, whether the firm is large or small. In your first few years on the job, you’ll assist senior auditors and prepare for the CPA exam.

Senior Audit are like a back bones that holds the audit together They are responsible for resolving any accounting problems as they are identifying and documenting audit risks, managing client relationships, creating, administering budget issues and partner are adequately informed of all relevant items and ensuring that the audit manager . They supervise the fieldwork of staff auditors and ensure the audit is thorough and properly documented.

The manager is responsible for managing good relationships with client. Even if both the senior and staff auditors will be at the audit site each day during the audit, the manager has to visit the audit site at least once a week, maybe more than that if required as it again depends upon the status and time remaining for completion of the audit.

For all the audit work which are been satisfied with the thoroughness and resolution of all issues are again been high level reviewed by audit manager.

Tax

Similarly like audit even tax growth path also is good, as shown below.

  • Tax Staff
  • Tax Senior
  • Tax Manager

As you will be a tax staff, you mostly have to address the tax return open items and should perform any research on technical tax issues; client relationship items and general tax matters are most often taken care by the senior’s .the work of preparing chart of a corporate tax return are straightforward. As corporate tax returns are quite complex, you can approximately prepare a corporate return line-byline, similarly like individual return.
